My name is Kala Frazier-Walker and I am a 31 year old native of South Carolina. I am married to a loving husband, and we share a 3 year old daughter. I was first diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS in May of 2017. At the beginning of my diagnosis, I didn’t know much about the disease or what to expect. I only knew that Montel Williams, the famous talk show host, suffered from the illness and he ended his talk show in the late 90s to focus on his health. This led to many sleepless nights. Some nights I would lay awake and rack my brain on what could have been done differently in my life to prevent the disease and what caused MS. I remember crying out to God and asking Him to heal me or to give me peace and strength to deal with the illness. I started asking him so many questions, but as time progressed the main question was “What good can come out of such a bad situation?” I didn’t want to feel like my life was over or that I was hopeless. I didn’t want to go further down the hole of darkness and depression. I refused to envision myself in a wheel chair, even though the doctor’s reports were always negative. So I began to strengthen my relationship with God through prayer and meditation. I also began reading and educating myself about the disease, and the life-style changes that I would need to make in order to make life a little easier.
Fast forward to today, I recently experienced a relapse this past August 2021. This was the 2nd relapse since my diagnosis, and it put me on bed rest for a couple of weeks. While lying in bed 4 am one morning reading a Bible plan on healing, I heard the Spirit of God speak to me about blogging my MS journey. Please let me inform you all that I have no experience blogging. I am writing purely out of obedience to God. I honestly feel that if this site and my blogs helps just one person, then I have accomplished my mission.
I would be grateful if you all provide feedback and subscribe to my blogs. To my MS warriors, let’s share experiences and helpful tips on how to cope with this ugly disease. I am a firm believer that we can make the best of the hand that life dealt to Us. I am here to inspire and to let you all know that “With Pain Comes Strength”. We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus, who Strengthens Us. Peace and Blessings to you all. Thank you.
